A lot. MBBS is the most visible PCB path, but it's far from the only good one. Medical and health careers (many still use NEET-UG) - BDS (dentistry), BAMS / BHMS / BUMS (AYUSH), BVSc (veterinary). Admission is through NEET-UG. - B.Sc Nursing. Many states and institutes now use NEET scores. Nursing is regulated by the Indian Nursing Council. - B.Pharm (pharmacy). Open to PCB or PCM, often through state exams or CUET. - Physiotherapy (BPT), Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Medical Lab Technology, Radiology. Allied health roles with real demand in hospitals. Science and research careers (no NEET needed) - B.Sc Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Zoology/Botany. Leads to research, labs, pharma and, with a master's, industry roles. - IISERs and NISER offer BS-MS programmes for PCB students too. - Forensic science (for example, National Forensic Sciences University). Other strong options - Psychology (B.A./B.Sc). To practise as a clinical psychologist you later need an RCI-recognised qualification. - Nutrition and dietetics, agriculture (B.Sc Agriculture), environmental science. - Bioinformatics and health data. Biology plus coding is a growing mix. PCB students can also go into law, design, management, and civil services like anyone else. A quick tip: if you liked NEET-level biology but not hospitals, look at research and biotech. If you like helping people directly, look at allied health and psychology. Guidopia's Career DNA can show which of these fits your interests and strengths best.
Follow-up: How do I decide between NEET-based and non-NEET options? Start with what kind of work you want day to day. - Treating patients directly (doctor, dentist, nurse, physiotherapist): most of these need NEET-UG or clinical training, so plan for it. - Lab and research work (biotech, microbiology, genetics, forensic science): you can enter through CUET-UG, IAT or university admissions, and a master's matters a lot. - Working with people without clinical medicine (psychology, nutrition, public health): there are degree routes after PCB with no NEET. Then check each course's regulator. NMC, INC, PCI, RCI and VCI list approved colleges and rules, so you can avoid unrecognised institutes.
