Starting in Class 11 is the standard and best time. Here's a plan that keeps you consistent without burning out. Phase 1: Class 11 (build the base) - Cover Class 11 concepts as they're taught: mechanics, thermodynamics, mole concept, chemical bonding, algebra, trigonometry, coordinate geometry, calculus basics. - Read NCERT for chemistry carefully; inorganic chemistry questions lean on it. - Solve problems daily in all three subjects. Aim for consistency, like 2 hours of practice every day. - Weekly chapter tests from coaching or a test series. Class 11 topics matter a lot. Many students rush Class 11 and pay for it later. Mechanics and calculus are the backbone of physics and maths.

Follow-up: What changes in Class 12? - Finish Class 12 syllabus by around December–January. - Revise Class 11 regularly. Set aside fixed weekly slots. - Start full mock tests by the start of Class 12 at least monthly, then weekly near the exam. - Board preparation: 6 to 8 weeks before boards, focus on board-style answers and practicals.

Follow-up: How should I use JEE Main sessions? Use the January session as a real attempt. Afterwards, analyse your weak areas and fix them before April. Many students improve noticeably in the second session.

Follow-up: How do I know if I'm on track? Track three things monthly: mock score trends, accuracy (percentage of attempted questions correct) and how many chapters are fully revised. If your mock scores are flat for 2–3 months, change your method, not just your hours: do more problems, focus on errors, and get help with weak chapters.

Follow-up: What if I start enjoying something else? That's important information, not a failure. Many students discover in Class 11 that they love coding, design or economics more. PCM keeps those doors open. Check how well engineering fits you with Guidopia's Career DNA, and decide with evidence.
